If everyone uses:

... this will be awesome. No names or titles, just visuals w/ links. Can be painting, drawing, sculpture, digital, whatever. If it could go in a gallery it can go here. FYI the notes post width is 500px so play nice.

I'll start.

a good image width is actually more like 425px, see above ^^

"A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" by Georges Seurat:

Man that first one is sick.

The first one looks like some wicked tongues attacking something.

you should see it in high res.

Damn Justin. Up close it's really wicked looking. That would freak people out for sure if I had that hanging on the wall... hehe... now to see about ordering a print...

My own!

Nice work RightOn. Looks sort of like an ice pick with a flower on the back. What is it exactly? Who knew you were such a crafty guy :)

My laptop art:

I studied as a silversmith in college that first one is a "vase" made out of brass with a pinecone "flower" in it. It is actually water tight so you CAN fill it with water and use a real flower.

RightOn: right on!

No mind-blowing psychedelic metaphors, but I really like this/him (Vincent Desiderio).

I like M. C. Escher's stuff. It's a toss up between these two:
<br/>

Double Planetoid is definately my favorite Escher piece. Link goes to larger image.

Crap that was a little too big. Sorry.

Here's another favorite:

nancycc: I've never seen or heard of Varo Remedios before -- her work is excellent!

wurkit: I dig that oil painting. I wish the full size at Flickr was bigger and less blurry or I'd use it as desktop wallpaper.

Jasinski, this awesome painter at deviantart:

"The Birth Of Venus".

My favourite painting is the Scream by whoever painted it. I just think it looks hilarious!

I've always loved René Magritte

Still my favorite painting of all time.

Fun Fact: For the first few years I never knew it was in color, and as a result, I still prefer it in B&W.

I love screenprint. This is one of my favorites by a friend of my boyfriend's.

Andy Goldsworthy

I have for a whilte had an obsession with Andy Goldsworthy's work and this is just one of my favourites.

you know what? I lied.

Magritte's La Trahison des Images

Wow. This is a tough one. I'm a big fan of the modern painters. Here are a couple of my favorite artists and an example of their work:

Mark Ryden

Joe Sorren

^^ Yeah that's a good one.

Hopper always makes me so sad...
I remember my teacher pointing out the fact that in his paintings there is usually something seperating us from the people. Gives a real sense of isolation.

Not actually my favourite -- I can't remember what it's called -- but this is another of my favourite Dali pieces.
