I should be there for at least a few.
I'd recommend the Developers Handbook to anyone looking for CSS/XHTML resources.
I don't think I have a favorite picture, but this is a painting that my parents have had in their house for a long time, and is a definite favorite of mine.

InterfaceLift has been the best resource that I've found for backgrounds.
Mostly hip hop/backpack rap like Atmosphere, Sage Francis, Eyedea & Abilities, Murs.
Good choice in artists. I mostly listen to underground hip hop (and lots of instrumentals) when I'm designing, then when I start coding I sometimes switch it up to deep house.
Yeah I think there is a fine line. Even some of the best graffiti work I've seen is normally found on buildings and/or trains which would be considered vandalism. In that case, though, where would graffiti fit into society as an art form?
I've always been into graffiti and fascinated at how awesome some of it looks. I'm curious to know peoples opinions on whether or not you think graffiti is art.
I find it hard to imagine that something like this can be thought of as anything else but art.
Aside from Smashing Mag, there aren't many sites that I visit on a normal basis that fill that void of being leaders in the industry. I feel that I haven't been inspired in a long time.
I've got the Intuos 3 and love it. For the first year or so, I used it as my mouse because I was doing a lot more design work at my job. Then I got into more development work, and didn't need it as much, but I do still use it when designing.
It only took me about 20 minutes to get used to at first, so I didn't really have an issue there.
My camera is definitely not good enough to capture pictures like that, but I did watch it for a little while.
Only thing differently I do, as a web designer, is order flowers online instead of in person lol. I don't spend a ton of money on the holiday, but I do buy some flowers.
Apple's first logo was awful, but interesting article.
Wow he's done some sick work, and it's a bonus that he works for Apple now, that definitely says a lot.
You can find some cool grunge stuff at Texture King also.
Was it the 37s Fireside Chat?
This is mine, from a slide at a SXSW panel last year
Why don't you try finding a color to contrast nicely with that orange that you use. And maybe using sIFR could had to it a bit too. I will also agree that photographs are never a bad idea.
I use it on my blog, it's definitely worth looking into if you want to be more flexible with fonts for headings and such. I wouldn't exactly use it on large blocks of text though.
Looking at the source code of that site, they are definitely using sifr.
They are probably using sIFR.
I've had to walk away from a project because the client was very poor at communicating, and there was too much scope creep going on. I couldn't handle that because the project was dragging along too much.
PSD Tuts is a good resource.
Yeah I'd say try and do both. Though it's convenient doing everything online, if you have the chance to meet with locals for business meetings, that could be beneficial.
This is a new building being built in Chicago. I think it looks awesome, and will add quite a bit to the Chicago skyline. It's going to be taller than the Sears Tower as well.
What do you think?
Flickr is definitely one of my favorite web apps, however, I don't use it at all for the community aspect. It's just the easiest place for me to store pictures of mine, that I can easily link friends/family to.
I don't claim to be any kind of photographer, so ownership of my images isn't a concern because most of them are personal so I doubt anyone would want to use them anyways.
I use grids sometimes. I just found this grid bookmarklet that I want to use on my next project.
nachtzeit, very good points........been there before.
I hate when clients try to micromanage the design phase of a project, like they have any idea of the thought that goes into design. In other words, they don't trust the designer to do a good job.
I would suggest learning Wordpress. It's fairly easy to pickup, and there is a ton of community support. This might help get started with coding up a new theme.
This is really inspiring to read (for me) because I'm far from a programmer yet have a little interest in how to build apps.......but at the end of the day I'm a designer.
This is extremely creative what is done with this paper.
It's always interesting to see the interior design of creative agencies. So this site has some good visuals on the workplaces around the globe.

I cancelled my MySpace account a while ago, but looking at the homepage, definitely looks pretty clean. I like it, and like Mike, the main nav looks a TON better.
